Yoga Podcasts

The following podcasts are mostly for the intermediate/advanced yoga practitioner, although some of these websites offer mixed level or exclusively beginners classes. I've included the most popular styles of yoga such as vinyasa flow, Jivamukti and Anusara.

Vinyasa yoga podcasts

1. Amazing Yoga with Sean and Karen Conley

Sure to get your muscles quivering , these power yoga classes are sweaty,and challenging. Most run the traditional hour to 70 minutes, althugh there are some 30 minute quickie sessions for those short on time and in need of invigoration.

2. 90 minutes of yoga with Yogi Wade

New classes are added weekly to these live class recordings, keeping your practice interesting. Although yogi Wade teaches Ashtanga based classes, each class has a different anatomical theme, incorporating the less practiced asanas such as the crocodile pose. As all classes are 90 minutes long, it feels like a real yoga class.

3. Faith Hunter Yoga

Faith, who has received her training at the Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in New York offers playful and eclectic vinyasa flow classes to some funky music. Most run an hour to 75 minutes with a good variety to choose from.

4. Yoga to the People

The Yoga to the People studios run on donations to bring the benefits of power yoga to everyone. The hour long classes are taught by different instructors, which keeps the pleasant surprise element alive, sure to break you out of the home practice rut.

5. Yoga Journal Podcast with Jason Crandall

Experience Jason's precise but playful instruction and enjoy his mindful 20 minute vinyasa yoga classes. There is a great variety of themes to suit your whims, such as an energizing sequence, deep hip openers, evening relaxation and more. The beauty of his instruction is that no two classes are alike in its sequencing and there is nothing predictable about his vinyasa classes.

Instead of your mid day latte, down load a 20 minute yoga class from Yoga Download. Although their hour long power yoga classes require payment, your 20 minute yoga sessions are free, and you can choose from a variety of short classes such as power vinyasa, core, hips, detox yoga and lunar flow.

Jivamukti Yoga podcasts

7. Jai Prem Yoga

Allow the lovely voice of Keri Johnson to guide you through a 45 minute to one hour Jivamukti flow classes. Try her live hip hop yoga class to cheer you up on a somber day.

8. Padmani Yoga Podcast

A beautifully written thoughtful blog and podcast offering 30 minutes to an hour of Jivamukti flow. Try the economy 45 minute class if you're pressed for time but looking for a well rounded flow. Choose from classes such as the Grounding 75 Minute Practice, a 75 minute Core Practice, 60 minute back bending and more and flow to Padmani's soothing voice.

9. The Jiva Diva Jiva Jam Series

Archives date back to 2005. A few live 90 minute classes along with yoga talks, guided meditation practices, asana explanations, and lots of 20 minute classes with different themes. Refresh yourself with the office yoga, Jiva Jam 20 minute rush series, 20 minute core, arm balance series and lots more. End in a blissful savasana with Alana's beautiful chanting.

10. Bow Down Yoga

Lots of 90 minute classes to choose from , along with 1 hour classes. Sophie's classes come complete with an opening talk, chanting, pranayama, asana practice, meditation and savasana. Creative themes such as "Yoga According to Langston Hughs" and "Om Nama Que Sera Sera" will bring you a smile.

Anusara yoga podcasts

11. Hillary's Yoga Practice

Hillary offers many quality Anusara yoga classes ranging from 30 minutes to a full hour. Classes are for all levels unless specified, with themes such as , "Practice Your Peace Upside Down", "Dancing Fearlessly", "Your Life as a Work of Art". For the more visual yogis, there are photographs of the asanas for minimal confusion. A generous archive selection gives you even more classes.

12. Elsie's Yoga Kula : Free Online Yoga Classes

A lively blog/podcast with plenty of thoughtful musings, classes for all levels, photographs of the asana sequences,and some pre natal yoga. Classes range from 1 hour to a blissful 90 minutes.
